NaNoWriMo Week 2 Recap

Print

Week 2 of NaNoWriMo was not kind to me. It’s never kind to me.

My words per day dropped a bit, but then I went to a write-in on Saturday and write over 2,000 words. I’m still very, very behind, but I think I can catch up.

As of right now I’m still about 12,000 words behind. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but with half a month to go I can still get caught up.

How is NaNoWriMo treating you? Are you ahead or behind on your word count? Are you prepared for week 3?

  1. I am currently on what I like to call the “kill it with fire” stage of NaNoWriMo, where everything I write is trash and I really want to just go back and delete the last 15k words or so. But I must struggle through it, because once I hit the forth week I tend to hit my stride again.

And I wish you luck with catching up! You never know, you might get a sudden burst of inspiration and pound out 12k words in a day.

Thanks for stopping by Writing on a Vintage Typewriter!

    • The “kill it with fire” stage sounds very familiar to me. I think I go through something similar every year. I’ve had days with huge bursts of writing before. I’m hoping I’ll manage to have one or two before the month is over.
