• Thoughts: Better than yesterday, but still not great. I’ll try again tomorrow.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Tomorrow I start editing the next chapter. I can only hope that it will go as well as thing did last week.

December 22

• Today’s word count: 41
• Thoughts: Not too upset about my low word count today. I spent my time editing so over all I did spend a lot of time working on my writing. I just delete words and add other words so only a small increase in apparent.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More editing! If I’m really lucky I might be able to get the chapter done tomorrow. I really want it done before Friday because I don’t think I will be in the editing mood on Christmas.

December 23

• Today’s word count: -3
• Thoughts: I never thought I would be posting a negative word count for my daily progress, but that’s what revising does to me. The scene I was working on needed a lot of tweaking so I did it. That resulted in fewer words than I had at the start.
• Tomorrow’s goal: I need to finish editing the next chapter. I’m past the halfway point so it won’t be too much longer.

December 24

• Thoughts: Even more editing! I didn’t even finish editing the chapter. There’s a lot of passive voice that needs cleaned up. I hope I’m catching it all.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Christmas with the family. I probably won’t write.

Christmas. No writing progress made.

December 26

• Today’s word count: -4
• Thoughts: I finally finished editing the chapter and posted it. Couldn’t find the motivation to write more after the editing ordeal.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Write, maybe. I have another Christmas party with my extended family and don’t know if I will have the time or energy to write.

December 27

Christmas party. No writing progress made.

I’m hoping next week will be a bit less chaotic. We are having a couple people over for New Year’s Eve so there’s a chance I might miss a day of writing because of that. Other than that it should be a fairly typical week with plenty of opportunities to get a good word count. Let’s hope I actually write when I have the time.
