February 1
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,225
- Today’s word count: 234
- Thoughts: It was about the best I could do given the circumstances and how I felt today.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Feel better and start editing the next chapter.
February 2
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,226
- Today’s word count: 1
- Thoughts: I had a wimpy, wimpy editing session today. I did more than add one word, of course, but my net gain is only a single word.
- Tomorrow’s goal: More editing. Hopefully a longer, more productive editing session.
February 3
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,255
- Today’s word count: 29
- Thoughts: I got a lot of cleaning done today. Procrastination! Eventually I did get around to editing.
- Tomorrow’s goal: More editing. Hopefully I will manage to finish the chapter.
February 4
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,109
- Today’s word count: -146
- Thoughts: Editing. So much editing. When I edit I highlight passages I think either need to be rewritten or deleted. I took a screencap for Twitter and I’d like to share it with you as well.
- Tomorrow’s goal: I still have more editing to do before I can post Chapter Thirteen so I will be busily hacking and slashing away at that some more.
February 5
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,013
- Today’s word count: -96
- Thoughts: I’m still struggling through the edits of this chapter. It’s very obvious that I wrote it during some sort of sprint during NaNoWriMo. All the ideas are there, and I quite like them, but there are so many problems I’m deleting, combining, or rewriting at least every other line in the draft.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Continue editing. Yes. That’s right. I’m going to still be editing Chapter Thirteen on the day it is supposed to be posted online. Let’s hope I can get it up in time. Although, I guess you’ll already know if it happened or not. =P
February 6
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 93,028
- Today’s word count: 15
- Thoughts: I finished the edits and I got the chapter posted! Victory! I tried to write a bit after I finished editing but my brain was pretty fried.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Try to write and not worry at all about spelling, punctuation, or any other stressful stuff.

No writing progress made. Editing that last chapter gave me a little bit of burn out. I learned that editing chapters written during the later parts of NaNoWriMo is really, really tough. Let’s just hope a day off is all I need to get back on track!
Good progress this week! I’ve started doing edits recently and it’s like pulling teeth, lol. Hopefully it will get a little easier as it goes along!

At least with my novel I seem to go through stretches of really difficult editing and then I get rewarded with a couple scenes that turned out really well and can almost get passed on to the next draft intact.
