Writing Progress March 28 – April 3, 2016

March 28

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 91,879
  • Today’s word count: 49
  • Thoughts: I barely slept and it really killed my ability to write.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, I hope.

March 29

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 91,891
  • Today’s word count: 12
  • Thoughts: Hardly any writing happened at all. I visited my mom and then the rest of the day just sort of ran away without me.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Try to do the writing thing properly.

March 30

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 92,440
  • Today’s word count: 549
  • Thoughts: I would consider today a good writing day. I’m finishing up a scene right now and wrapping it up slowed me down and eventually made me get up and walk away to think.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write! Try not to worry about CampNaNoWriMo starting.

March 31

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 92,899
  • Today’s word count: 459
  • Thoughts: I was planning to write more as a sort of warm up for CampNaNoWriMo, but I decided to color instead in the hours leading up to the event. I think I made the right decision.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: CampNaNoWriMo! Write first. Then, if I hit my word count target early, I’ll work on editing the next chapter.

April 1

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 93,920
  • Today’s word count: 1,021
  • Thoughts: Well, it wasn’t a full NaNo word count sort of day. My back is really acting up, and I’m struggling to figure out what to do to make myself comfortable for writing when this happens. I’m still thrilled with the words I wrote. I fought hard for them.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write between my chores.

April 2

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 94, 250
  • Today’s word count: 330
  • Thoughts: More spring cleaning than writing happened today. I can’t say I regret it. My apartment is so clean now!
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Back to serious writing!

April 3

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 94,310
  • Today’s word count: 60
  • Thoughts: Far from the best day writing-wise. I ended up spending most of my writing time wrapped up in blankets trying to stay warm and zoning out.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Tomorrow is Monday. I’d like to start the week off right with a huge word count.

I never start off any NaNo events on the best of footing, so I’m not too worried about getting caught up. I know I can do it. I just need that magic combination of luck, timing, and motivation.

How’s CampNaNoWriMo going for you? Are you ahead? Behind? Not started  yet? Doesn’t matter. Let me know how you’re doing and I’ll cheer you on!
