Since I’m trying to keep up with my writing progress updates during CampNaNoWriMo I thought it might be nice to keep track of my word count for the month in addition to my project total and my daily word count. Let me know if you think this is an improvement or if I should scrap the idea!

April 4

• Monthly word count: 3,081
• Today’s word count: 1,670
• Thoughts: Today was a fantastic writing day! I want to keep up the momentum and enthusiasm for the rest of the month. Total writing high!
• Tomorrow’s goal: Keep riding the writing train!

April 5

• Project: The Dreams
• Total word count: 96,747
• Monthly word count: 3,848
• Today’s word count: 767
• Thoughts: I was hoping for another day like yesterday, but that didn’t happen. I’m still very happy with the words I did get written.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Possibly try to figure out how to continue writing and tracking my word count for CampNaNoWriMo while editing the next chapter.

April 6

• Today’s word count: 123
• Thoughts: Tiny word count, but big progress! I edited more than half of the next chapter!
• Tomorrow’s goal: Write more, and finished editing the next chapter.

April 7

• Project: The Dreams

• Monthly word count: 4716
• Today’s word count: 740
• Thoughts: I wrote and edited today. I’m thrilled with how much progress I made with the novel so far this week.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Finish the chapter revision and more writing.

April 8

• Monthly word count: 5,139
• Today’s word count: 419
• Thoughts: I finished editing the next chapter and  wrote too. That’s a good writing day in my book.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. No editing.

April 9

• Monthly word count: 5,856
• Today’s word count: 717
• Thoughts: Saturdays are pretty much the worst day of the week for me lately. It’s the day everything seems to get derailed. It was such a chore to get myself into the writing mindset.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Better writing!

April 10

• Monthly word count: 5,981
• Today’s word count: 125
• Thoughts: Writing was like pulling teeth today. I’m not sure what happened exactly, but I’m not thrilled.
• Tomorrow’s goal: I hope that there’s more writing happening, but we’ll see what the day brings.
