Tomorrow will be the halfway point for the month. It’s hard to believe the month is halfway over.
How’s my writing for Camp?
Well, I’m writing every day. That’s always a good sign. My current word count is less of a good sign. I left my goal for the month at 50,000 words because I thought it would take that or a bit more to finish the first draft of The Dreams. As of this morning my word count is 7,226. That’s quite a bit below my target word count of 23,333.
I’m not giving up just yet. I always fall behind during NaNoWriMo. Sometimes I can catch up. Sometimes I can’t. I don’t think I’m so far behind just yet that I can’t catch up again.
Usually the pressure of the deadline motivates me during the last few days of the month. Then I manage to write about a third of the month’s words in the last two days. I have a feeling once I am a bit closer to the end of the story I will have a rallying burst of motivation.
One of these times I’m actually going to write steadily and stay on track or almost on track all month. Maybe that is something I can aspire to during July’s Camp session. It certainly isn’t happening this month!
How is CampNaNoWriMo going for you? Are you ahead of your target or behind?
