  • Thoughts: I didn’t write as much as I would have liked. My afternoon writing session was rudely interrupted by a huge hail storm. We hadn’t expected such extreme weather so I found myself preoccupied preparing for a power outage. Fortunately, we didn’t have any serious, permanent damage from the storm.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! Hopefully the weather will be a little more ordinary.

The best photo of the hail I could get without stepping out into the mess. I promise you this is a photo of  my hometown in Pennsylvania on May 23, 2016 and not a snowstorm from sometime earlier.

  • Total word count: 117,250
  • Today’s word count: 373
  • Thoughts: I was having a great day, and I got a ton of stuff done. Then the internet started acting up again. I’d only be able to use it for a minute before it dropped again. I ended up using a bunch of time trying to access my cloud storage. I’m spoiled and really hate having to physically transfer my Scrivener project when I want to switch between devices.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Try not to worry about the internet so much. Write. Use my external hard drive to do transfers if things are still bad. Stop being a spoiled brat.

May 25

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,416
  • Today’s word count: 166
  • Thoughts: I made it through the day with no to barely working internet. My daily word count doesn’t really reflect it, but I got a good amount of work done. Most of my time went into revising a scene for the next chapter. I only have a little over a thousand words to go through before that chapter will be ready to be formatted and posted.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. More revising. Maybe with good internet?

May 26

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,575
  • Today’s word count: 159
  • Thoughts: It is too hot to think. I just want to lay in front of a fan and do nothing, but I need to keep writing and revising. At least the internet managed to fix itself somehow. Pretty sure my router isn’t the problem since I’m still  using the old one.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same. Try to stay cool.

May 27

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,573
  • Today’s word count: -2
  • Thoughts: Revising is painful. Revising while miserably hot is almost impossible, so I did it.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Make everything wonderful again and get the chapter posted. Then maybe, hopefully write some more.

May 28

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,565
  • Today’s word count: -8
  • Thoughts: I got the chapter posted! That’s about it. It took all the energy I had just to do that.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write new words.

May 29

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 118,166
  • Today’s word count: 601
  • Thoughts: I wrote. It was a struggle, but I’m happy now.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the writing stuff. It’s supposed to be a bit cooler so that might help me concentrate.

This chapter was fun to write, but getting the revisions done was a nightmare! The story wasn’t the problem though. Life just wanted to make everything difficult this week. I had internet troubles and lost pretty much an entire day to fighting with that (and I still don’t have a real resolution to that problem since it just started working on it’s own again). The weather has tried to ruin me too. We’re having a heat wave and I’m too tired to do much of anything. The chapter is ready though!

Here’s to my supporters. You’re fantastic, and knowing you’re waiting for the next chapter keeps me working.

My Musical Inspiration Today

This song is just perfect for my writing mood these days. The sound of the music is upbeat enough to make me want to write, and the lyrics are dark. Overall it just reminds me of my story in best/worst way possible. It makes me think of Takeshi and all the awful things he does and says.

What’s your musical inspiration today? Share a link in the comments!

May 16

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 114,680
  • Today’s word count: 52
  • Thoughts: I did it! I got the chapter posted! It’s such a relief. Now I can spend a few days just thinking about writing new words before I dive into revising the next chapter.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Just writing. Yay!

May 17

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 115,500
  • Today’s word count: 820
  • Thoughts: Overall it was a productive writing day. I’m shocked I wrote as much as I did. I spent a good portion of the day in too much pain to do much of anything. Migraines are not fun. I managed to get in two good writing sessions though and that made all the difference.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same. Maybe some revision of the next chapter?

May 18

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,007
  • Today’s word count: 507
  • Thoughts: For some reason it doesn’t feel like I made much progress today even though I wrote over 500 words.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write and revise. Hopefully I’ll have time to do both.

May 19

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,542
  • Today’s word count: 535
  • Thoughts: The day started out really unproductive, but I turned it around before bed. I’m pretty proud of that.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same. More revision.

May 20

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,449
  • Today’s word count: -93
  • Thoughts: I spent about 8 hours revising today. It wasn’t the most painful chapter I’ve worked on recently, but it still took a whole day.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Back to writing.

May 21

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,708
  • Today’s word count: 259
  • Thoughts: I had a very busy Saturday so I’m pretty impressed that I wrote at all!
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Spend more time writing. I shouldn’t have as much to do so sitting down and writing should be easy.

May 22

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,728
  • Today’s word count: 20
  • Thoughts: I wish I had a real explanation for what happened today. The internet wasn’t working properly and that put me in a foul mood. After that I just could not motivate myself to sit at the computer.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, of course!

This chapter was somehow easier to revise than the last one. I don’t know what exactly makes some chapters easier than others. Hopefully easy to revise will translate to easy to read!

This chapter is so late! It was a long one, and I went back and forth deciding what to keep and what to leave out. In the end I decided to keep most of it. I’ll decide how I want to go about condensing it in further the next draft.

For now I just hope that you enjoy the chapter and forget that it should’ve been available to you days ago. I’ll try to get back on track this Saturday.
