April 25
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 105,112
- Monthly word count: 12,268
- Today’s word count: 621
- Thoughts: I wrote for a long time, but I wrote very slowly. I need to figure out what is keeping me from making huge word counts happen.
- Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Break through whatever is slowing me down.
April 26
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 105,812
- Monthly word count: 12,968
- Today’s word count: 700
- Thought: Today is a great example of procrastination not working in my favor. I’m getting a cold. The last thing I want to do is have a huge writing marathon, but I didn’t write enough earlier in the month to give myself a break.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Hopefully feel better and write.
April 27
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 108,628
- Monthly word count: 15,811
- Today’s word count: 2,843
- Thoughts: I can’t believe I wrote that many words! I know I’ve written many, many more words in a single day in the past, but I did not feel the greatest so it’s a big deal to me. This is my best word count day for the month (so far)!
- Tomorrow’s goal: Write more. Try to best today’s word count. Also! Stop feeling sick.
April 28
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 110,338
- Monthly word count: 17,521
- Today’s word count: 1,710
- Thoughts: I still have a cold-thing. I wrote, but not as much as I would have liked. I was hoping to write at least 3,000 words to beat yesterday, but that really didn’t happen.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Lots of writing and definitely not letting my Friday errands mess me up too much.
April 29
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 111,546
- Monthly word count: 18,729
- Today’s word count: 1,208
- Thoughts: Fridays and Saturdays are the most difficult days for writing for me. I kinda wish that the month ended on a different day.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Get the next chapter posted. Keep writing as much as possible before midnight.
April 30
- Project: The Dreams
- Total word count: 111,644
- Monthly word count: 18,834
- Today’s word count: 98
- Thoughts: I felt really burned out today. I spent more time revising a chapter to post than I did on writing new words. I’m okay with that. I was still spending the day working on my writing. It just wasn’t the part of the writing process I was counting for Camp this year.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Take a break. Go to the Fairie Festival.
May 1
No writing progress made. Took a break and planned to go to the Fairie Festival for May Day, but it was too rainy. Instead I stayed home, played some games, read, and spent time with my pets (including the fish!). Telling myself not to write really made me want to write, but I held out and kept my writing ban until midnight.
Unfortunately I didn’t get anywhere close to my CampNaNoWriMo goal this time. I was hoping to have a new banner to show off this week, but I guess I’ll close out my progress reports for this session of Camp with the same banner. Win or lose, I’ll always participate!
I also didn’t quite make my Camp NaNo goal; I just totally burned out in the last few days of the month. But I’m still glad I made progress. And it looks like you made a lot of good progress as well! 🙂

CampNaNoWriMo is so much harder than NaNoWriMo for some reason.

I agree! I think the difference is that way way many more people participate in NaNoWriMo, and there’s just this really high level of enthusiasm and camaraderie that I feel isn’t quite as present during Camp NaNo. I feel like I’m also just not as determined to win Camp NaNo as I am to win NaNo.

I love the cabins and the feeling of being part of a small group of writers, but it really is a double edged sword.
