Writing Progress May 23 – 29, 2016

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 116,877
  • Today’s word count: 149
  • Thoughts: I didn’t write as much as I would have liked. My afternoon writing session was rudely interrupted by a huge hail storm. We hadn’t expected such extreme weather so I found myself preoccupied preparing for a power outage. Fortunately, we didn’t have any serious, permanent damage from the storm.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! Hopefully the weather will be a little more ordinary.

The best photo of the hail I could get without stepping out into the mess. I promise you this is a photo of  my hometown in Pennsylvania on May 23, 2016 and not a snowstorm from sometime earlier.

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,250
  • Today’s word count: 373
  • Thoughts: I was having a great day, and I got a ton of stuff done. Then the internet started acting up again. I’d only be able to use it for a minute before it dropped again. I ended up using a bunch of time trying to access my cloud storage. I’m spoiled and really hate having to physically transfer my Scrivener project when I want to switch between devices.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Try not to worry about the internet so much. Write. Use my external hard drive to do transfers if things are still bad. Stop being a spoiled brat.

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,416
  • Today’s word count: 166
  • Thoughts: I made it through the day with no to barely working internet. My daily word count doesn’t really reflect it, but I got a good amount of work done. Most of my time went into revising a scene for the next chapter. I only have a little over a thousand words to go through before that chapter will be ready to be formatted and posted.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. More revising. Maybe with good internet?

May 26

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,575
  • Today’s word count: 159
  • Thoughts: It is too hot to think. I just want to lay in front of a fan and do nothing, but I need to keep writing and revising. At least the internet managed to fix itself somehow. Pretty sure my router isn’t the problem since I’m still  using the old one.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same. Try to stay cool.

May 27

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,573
  • Today’s word count: -2
  • Thoughts: Revising is painful. Revising while miserably hot is almost impossible, so I did it.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Make everything wonderful again and get the chapter posted. Then maybe, hopefully write some more.

May 28

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 117,565
  • Today’s word count: -8
  • Thoughts: I got the chapter posted! That’s about it. It took all the energy I had just to do that.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write new words.

May 29

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 118,166
  • Today’s word count: 601
  • Thoughts: I wrote. It was a struggle, but I’m happy now.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More of the writing stuff. It’s supposed to be a bit cooler so that might help me concentrate.

  1. I saw some pictures of the storm on Facebook. Hope you didn’t get any damage (and that if you did get any damage it was minimal).
