R. R. Willica tagged me for this blog game so I’m going to answer a few questions today. After I answer the questions I’ll ask some of my own and tag a few lucky blogging friends.

What is your all time favorite book?

This is a tough one! I love so many books. The Silmarillion is probably at the top of my list of favorites though. I love the world building! I love that it sets the stage for all the events of the Second, Third, and Fourth ages of Middle Earth. I’m also just really fond of elves.

What is your favorite genre to read/write?

Oh! This is an easy one! Without a doubt my favorite for both is fantasy. I do make an effort to read outside of the fantasy genre, though because I know it will make me a stronger writer.

If you could be any type of mythical creature, what would you be?

Another easy one! If you’re familiar with my novel you can probably guess my answer. I would love to be a kitsune. They have such amazing and varied abilities, and foxes are so cute.

Do you play video games and if so what type?

I do play video games. I tend to play open ended games like The Sims and Minecraft, and Japanese RPGs. I’m not fond of first person shooters or platformers.

Have you ever visited another country?

Yes! I studied abroad in Japan back in 2010. I lived in Tokyo and also visited Kamakura. It was one of the most exciting experiences of my life.

Do you have any pets?

I do!

I have two cats, Demi and Josh. They’ve been my furballs since February 2014.

I also have 3 goldfish, Magi, Ilmarë and Pierre. I’ve had Magi and Ilmarë since January 2015. Pierre joined them in May 2015.

Do you enjoy cooking? What is the best dish you can make?

I’m not a huge fan of cooking. I’d rather eat good food than make it. I’m still the cook in the house though. My boyfriend is nervous even boiling water.

My best dish is probably baked mac and cheese. I add lots of peppers and onions, and sometimes I add bacon too.

Where would you go on a dream vacation?

Normally I would say Japan, but these days I’ve really been craving a trip into the mountains. I think my dream vacation at the moment would be two or three weeks in a modern style cabin in the Appalachian mountains. I’d get so much writing done!

How many books are on  your bookshelf (or reading device)?

Between the two? Hundreds! I have a couple hundred more books in my mom’s attic. I need more bookshelves so I have room to keep them in my apartment.

Chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry?

Chocolate all the way.
