Is it just me or is the third week of NaNoWriMo the most difficult? Week 2 is no cakewalk, but the third week is when despair really starts to set in.

I’m really behind on my word count, and now it is too late to even consider lowering my goal to something more manageable. I’ll keep going. It will take more than a huge word count deficit to make me give up.

The words I am managing to write this month are pretty great. Part of it is the extra motivation to push through and produce a decent word count each day and part of it is just the part of my novel I’m working on this month. The Dreams is so long that I didn’t really get to the really juicy parts of the story until I was around 100,000 words in. I’m over 140,000 words in now and the story is still going strong. I’m no longer doubting my decision to raise my estimated total word count for this novel to 200,000 words.
