• Thoughts: I just barely met my minimum word count goal. I struggled to stay focused today and my final word count is the result of many brief writing sessions instead of two or three lengthier ones.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, hopefully with less distractions.

September 6

• Today’s word count: 303
• Thoughts: I’m really disappointed with the lack of progress today. I had a gig that required me to be out of the house for a few hours early in the day and I never got back into my usual routine after I returned. It’s something I need to work on for the future because there will always be some days I have to go outside.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Back to writing for real.

September 7

• Today’s word count: 1,007
• Thoughts: I can’t explain why, but getting to 1,000 words was very difficult today. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t reach my target yesterday or if something else was blocking me, but I don’t like it.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Revisions. So many revisions. Then more writing.

September 8

• Thoughts: I spent the entire day revising. Other weeks this would have taken me half the day at most, but today I just did not have the strength to push through it. I’m going to blame the heat. Summer decided to come back full blast the last few days and it’s sapped my energy.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Back to writing!

September 9

• Thoughts: My biggest struggle today was getting started. That didn’t happen until late and because of that, my word count was a bit lower than I would like.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Post a new chapter and write more.

• Thoughts: I didn’t write as much as I would have liked, but once again I had my desire to be productive smashed by oppressive heat. At this point, fall can’t start soon enough. I’m tired of making myself half-sick if I exert any sort of effort.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Well, it’s supposed to be cooler so let’s see if I can make up for my underperforming word counts this week.
