October 24

• Project: The Dreams
• Total word count: 197,517
• Today’s word count: 1,188
• Thoughts: Better! I feel like I’m getting back on track, and for once I feel like I know what I’m doing with this scene. It’s been a while since I felt that way. I always have a general idea for a scene when I plan to include it in the novel, but lately the general idea hasn’t been getting more specific. It makes it hard to write.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same or better. I need to wrap this story up so I need to keep having strong, productive writing days. Looming deadlines are usually excellent motivation. We’ll see if that applied in this case.

October 25

• Project: The Dreams

• Today’s word count: 514
• Thoughts: Not as good as yesterday, but I did make progress. I just wish I could wake up one day and have the energy and inspiration to finish it all in one go. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there that wants the ability to just dump a completed story out of their brain and into an actual written format.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. So much more writing. Let’s see if I can have a brain dump sort of day.

October 26

• Today’s word count: 881
• Thoughts: I’m getting there! The end of this story just doesn’t want to come out of my brain. Even when I know exactly what needs to happen I feel overwhelmed by the weight of  the whole story.
• Tomorrow’s goal: The usual Thursday stuff. Writing. Revision. Probably a bit of panic.

October 27

• Today’s word count: 1,038
• Thoughts: I should’ve written 50 more words so I could say I hit 200,000, but I was just so tired when I stopped that I couldn’t imagine writing one more word.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Hit 200,000 words and then probably freak out because the novel still won’t be finished.

October 28 and 29

These were interesting days. I worked on some revisions and did a lot of preparation of NaNoWriMo. On Saturday I went to a anime and gaming minicon and even did some planning for NaNoWriMo there. Unfortunately, this is not the sort of writing work that really translates to changing my word count numbers.

October 30

• Thoughts: Yeah! Revisions! I finished up the revisions for this week’s chapter and got it posted. Then I fell back into my con-flu daze. I need to kick it before NaNoWriMo!
• Tomorrow’s goal: Back to writing! I need to get my writing muscles warmed up before NaNo starts.
