Writing Progress June 5 – 11, 2017

June 5

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 69,580
  • Today’s word count: 158
  • Thoughts: I’m struggling to add words to my draft. I can plan just fine. Revising isn’t fun, but not too much of an issue. Writing new words is just difficult these days. I need to figure out why and fix it.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write. Revise. Do whatever I can to make progress with my writing.

June 6

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 70,094
  • Today’s word count: 514
  • Thoughts: This was a good day. I wish all days could be like this. I got into the zone and stayed there. It felt so good to get stuff done.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Try to get more things accomplished! I know I can because I did it today.

June 7

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 70,406
  • Today’s word count: 312
  • Thoughts: Writing! It’s not as spectacular of a word count as yesterday, but I managed to get into the zone once and planned out where I’m going next and then started writing.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! I know I can do it!

June 8

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 71,562
  • Today’s word count: 1,156
  • Thoughts: I did it! I wrote a lot of words! It felt great. A lot of those words were written when I was very tired. They’ll probably need a lot of work later, but I wrote them and that means they can be revised.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! I know I can do it.

June 9

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 72,192
  • Today’s word count: 630
  • Thoughts: Words! I’ve been writing so many words lately! It’s great. I’m back to feeling awful when I’m not writing and being able to do something about it.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I want to keep this going.

June 10

No writing progress made. I went to a mini convention and was out of the house all day. When I came home I was too exhausted to write.

June 11

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 72,213
  • Today’s word count: 21
  • Thoughts: I had such a hard time getting into my writing today. I was exhausted. The apartment was hot. It felt like I hadn’t touched my novel in years. Overall, it was not a good day.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Write! I think taking breaks is the worst thing I can do in the middle of a draft. Every time I do, I’m losing days to getting back into my writing groove.
