• Today’s word count: 241
• Thoughts: I feel better about my progress today than I have in the last few days. This whole month has been a struggle so getting multiple hundreds of words in a day is a huge victory. I’m looking forward to the day when this is the norm or even a disappointing day again.

January 23

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 140,576
• Today’s word count: 304
• Thoughts: I seem to be writing more each day. No complaints here! I hope I can continue to improve my daily word count. Getting my brain back into writing shape has been so difficult. I’m not sure how much longer it will take or how far I should push myself until I continue my efforts to be a success.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I’m confident I can do it, but I’m not sure how much of an improvement I should expect.

January 24

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 140,774
• Today’s word count: 198
• Thoughts: Today was not an improvement. I just couldn’t concentrate long enough to make any real progress. I hope it’s just a one-day mess up and not the start of another slump when I haven’t fully climbed out of the last one.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Maybe some revising if I’m lucky and productive enough.

January 25

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 141,032
• Today’s word count: 258
• Thoughts: I seem to be making a bit of a recovery. There might be some ups and downs as I try to get my writing stamina back. I’m sure I’ll get there eventually.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same, I hope.

January 26

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 273
• Thoughts: Not bad. Once I found my focus I was able to get some words out before I was too exhausted to keep going.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Maybe get a chapter posted. We’ll see how productive I can be on a Saturday.

January 27

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 141,533
• Today’s word count: 228
• Thoughts: Today went about how I expected it to go when I woke up. I was slightly productive but there were long periods of time where I was very distracted and could not produce any words. It’s not a new problem and I haven’t yet found a good solution. It’s just the way Saturdays tend to go.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Make Sunday a good writing day. I think I can do it.

January 28

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 142,021
• Today’s word count: 488
• Thoughts: Today turned out to be just as productive as I hoped it would be. I can’t remember the last time that happened. It’s a good feeling.
• Tomorrow’s goal: So much more writing. If I’m lucky, I’ll get a chapter posted too.
