• Today’s word count: 117
• Thoughts: Today was another so-so day of writing. I feel like I’m not making nearly enough progress. When I have the motivation to write, I don’t have the time or ability to do it and when I have the time, I feel like the words have vacated my brain. I know this won’t last forever, but I’m impatient to get back in sync so I can make real progress again. Good writing days are so freeing.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I have to keep trying or I’ll never get anywhere.

July 3

• Today’s word count: 331
• Thoughts: I feel like I’m getting more productive! I like it. It’s nice. Let’s hope I can keep it going.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! I’m confident I can do it!

July 4

Today was interesting. In addition to being the 4th of July, I came home from a mini vacation today. Instead of writing, I settled back into my apartment, gave my cats lots of attention, and tried not to melt as the heatwave continued.

July 5

• Thoughts: Today was pretty productive. I revised The Dreams a bit and wrote some more of Inbetween. No complaints from me. I like productive days.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. More revising. I know I can do it.

July 6

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 140
• Thoughts: Typical Friday. I got some work done, but overall I was pretty distracted. I wrote a bit, but I didn’t revise at all.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Revising. Hopefully I can get a chapter posted.

July 7

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 35
• Thoughts: Today was a hard day for writing. I just couldn’t find my creative side. I just stared at the blinking cursor and tried to will the rest of the scene to form into words. No luck. I probably should have switched gears and tried to revise, but I wanted to write and being unable to get the words flowing drained me of motivation.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. Actual writing. And hopefully I can revise a chapter too!

July 8

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 180,009
• Today’s word count: 148
• Thoughts: I wrote, but I’m still a little disappointed. This was a day when I had the inspiration to write and just kept letting myself get distracted. Some of it couldn’t be helped and some of it was definitely my fault for not planning my time better.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More of the same, but with a lot more focus.
