• Project: Inbetween

• Thoughts: I’m still suffering from the effects of my latest migraine. The pain has mostly subsided, but my mind if just not able to focus on much of anything. It’s definitely hurting my ability to write. I’m not a fan.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Feel better. Get back to writing. Hopefully I’ll get a new chapter posted as well.

February 12

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 43
• Thoughts: My migraine recovery/return to writing has been more difficult than I anticipated. In more optimistic news, I posted a new chapter of Inbetween!
• Tomorrow’s goal: Dive back into writing. I’ve been getting my toes wet, but I really need to get it over with and be serious about my writing again.

February 13

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 219,123
• Today’s word count: 305
• Thoughts: Today was a pretty good day. I feel like I’m getting back on track both with my ability to sit down and write and with the story itself. I’m looking forward to writing more tomorrow.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! I know I’m feeling better now so there’s no excuse to avoid doing my work.

February 14

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 257
• Thoughts: I hoped today would be better than it turned out to be. I tried. My heart just wasn’t in it. I need to figure out why and fix it before it becomes a bigger problem.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! It’ll be Friday so I feel like I need to temper my enthusiasm. Fridays rarely turn out to be good writing days. It can happen for me, but it certainly doesn’t happen often.

February 15

• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 32
• Thoughts: This was a typical Friday writing-wise. In other ways, it was a strange day. The weather was beautiful and spring-like. I went outside! The building’s furnace also broke and we found out it won’t be fixed until Tuesday. We have electric heat we can use as a backup, so it’s not a total disaster, but it’s a little troublesome to suddenly need to manage our heat situation on a room by room basis.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Stay in. Sit down. Write!

February 16

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 219,518
• Today’s word count: 106
• Thoughts: I wish I would have written more. My heart just wasn’t in it. I wish I knew why, but I don’t. My best guess: I’m just not feeling this chapter.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Figure out what the problem with this chapter and fix it! I see no reason not to get this straightened out before the day is over.

February  17

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 219,725
• Today’s word count: 207
• Thoughts: I was too cold to write! I usually don’t like to make excuses like this, but it’s really true today. All I wanted to do was drink hot tea, sit by my electric heater, and stay bundled up in blankets. Obviously, I wanted to write and tried to do it. I just didn’t make much progress. I do think I untangled my current plot problems, so that’s good.
• Tomorrow’s goal: Keep warm! Write more words! I hope I can do it. Keeping my hands warm will be the biggest barrier to progress.
