Writing Progress March 11 -17, 2019

daily writing progress

March 11

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 223,051
  • Today’s word count: 205
  • Thoughts: I felt a bit more productive today. As far as I can tell, I’m just feeling overwhelmed by the weight of what I’ve already written. This project is massive! I can’t help worrying that I’m not doing the earlier parts of the story justice with what I’m creating these days.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing! I think I should be able to find plenty of time to write tomorrow. I just need to make sure I don’t allow myself to make excuses to get out of it.

March 12

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 223,372
  • Today’s word count: 321
  • Thoughts: Maybe I’m getting my groove back. I hope so! All this struggling to write a few words each day is really getting on my nerves. It’s nice to feel capable of writing again.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: I have ideas. I have plans. I guess the only thing I can do with them is write them down!

March 13

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 223,752
  • Today’s word count: 380
  • Thoughts: Am I getting back on track? I feel like I’m getting back on track! My word counts are increasing and it’s getting easier to sit down and write. This is what I hoped would happen. I had such a good run earlier this year and then my health fell apart for a little while and I lost the ability to slip into the mindset easily. Now it looks like I might be getting back to that state of mind and I can’t wait!
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Stretch those writing muscles some more! I want to see what I can do. I believe I can keep improving.\

March 14

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 98,475
  • Today’s word count: 2

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 224,189
  • Today’s word count: 437

  • Thoughts: I was productive today! I revised a scene from The Dreams (it’s posted already for my patrons) and I wrote a decent amount for Inbetween. The last few days I’ve been progressively improving my productivity again. It’s motivating me to keep improving.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: I’m not taking Friday off this week. I’ll be busy Saturday and I don’t want to miss out on writing two days in a row when I’m just getting my writing muscles back into shape. I hope I’m not making a mistake because I know Saturday isn’t going to be a relaxing sort of day off from writing.

March 15

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 224,269
  • Today’s word count: 80
  • Thoughts: I tried, but it was Friday. There’s a reason I’ve started taking Fridays off from writing, but I had to make an exception this week because I’ll be even more busy and distracted on Saturday. An attempt at writing was made today, but my focus was split. I wish it wasn’t the case, but this is just the way things turned out.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Tomorrow is going to be a busy, busy day. If I have time to write, I’ll do my best to write some words, but I’m not sure how the day is going to go so I don’t want to make myself feel too guilty if I don’t do it.

March 16

No progress made. I helped a friend move and even though I had some creative energy left at the end of the day, I did not have the physical energy to do anything with my creativity.

March 17

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 224,349
  • Today’s word count: 80
  • Thoughts: Well, I wanted to write, but I was still pretty tired. Some days the will to write is there but the energy needed to focus that willpower is missing. Today turned out to be one of those days.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: After a good night’s sleep, I hope to be back to writing a decent amount each day. I’m itching to make some real progress with Inbetween again. The end is so close now!
