Writing Progress June 24 – 30, 2019

daily writing progress

June 24

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 236,779
  • Today’s word count: 126
  • Thoughts: Today was the last day of going out/running errands I had to do for a while. I never feel more introverted than when I’m forced to be out in the world and interact with people day after day. Four days of being out and socializing in a row absolutely drained me. Writing after that is almost impossible. I tried and pushed myself and got a few words out. I know I could write more if I didn’t feel so drained.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: Stay home. Write more. I have no reason to go out and it is supposed to be oppressively hot so I’ll gladly stay in and focus on my creative work.

June 25

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 236,947
  • Today’s word count: 168
  • Thoughts: I was home all day. I needed a lot of time today just to recharge after so many days out and about. It didn’t translate into a huge word count, but I really didn’t expect today to be hugely productive. I need a day to recharge.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: I have to go out and about again. It shouldn’t be an all day thing so I’m hoping I’ll be able to be productive after I’m home again.

June 26

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 237,267
  • Today’s word count: 320
  • Thoughts: I had a reasonably productive day. I might have been able to do more if I started earlier in the day, but I needed some time to unwind after being out and about. Overall, no regrets.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: I’ll be home all day. I should be able to buckle down and focus on my writing. The heat might try to derail my plans. It drains me of energy and makes it incredibly hard to be creative. I have to keep working though since I have no idea when things will cool off again.

June 27

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 237,400
  • Today’s word count: 133
  • Thoughts: I was home all day. I planned to write. It took a bad turn almost immediately. Scrivener updated and it caused me a lot of headaches with getting the program to understand that I had a license. Eventually, I did get it to work on my desktop. Then I turned my attention to updating the program on my laptop and it went through without a hitch on that computer.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I have some errands to run, but I think I’ll spend the majority of the day hiding from the heatwave in one of the cooler rooms in the apartment.

June 28 and 29

No writing progress made. It was hot. It was the weekend. I tried, but in the end, I just wanted to stay cool, watch movie and play video games. So I did. Overall, it was a great, relaxing time and probably what I needed just before the start of Camp NaNo.

I got to spend some quality time with my boyfriend. His work has been on mandatory overtime for ages now so even though we live together we don’t get to do a lot of fun things together on an average day. He gets some time off for the holiday next week so I’m hoping we can spend at least one day together having fun and not just taking care of chores and errands.

June 30

  • Project: Inbetween
  • Total word count: 237,511
  • Today’s word count: 111
  • Thoughts: I wrote! I was pretty excited about CampNaNoWriMo starting at midnight and it motivated me to write. Hopefully I can keep up the motivation.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: CampNaNoWriMo! I have writing to do. I have planning to do. If you want to know more about what I’m working on for CampNaNo in July, you can read about it here.
