• Project: Inbetween

• Today’s word count: 106
• Thoughts: I had another active day and I wrote between all the activity. Feeling good enough to increase my activity level has really improved my mood. Now I just need to get better at juggling all the wandering and exploring I’ve been doing and my writing.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More exploring. More writing. I might cut back on wandering around town a bit because it’s going to be even hotter than the past few days. Hopefully staying in to keep cool will make it easier to write even more words than I’ve been managing lately. Here’s hoping!

July 30

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,239
• Today’s word count: 217
• Thoughts: I doubled my word count from yesterday. I think that counts as more writing. I didn’t wander around as much. I said I wouldn’t, but the real reason was because of thunderstorms. I was not about to stretch out my evening walk while there was lightning in the sky. That just seemed like a bad idea.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More wandering. More writing. It’s supposed to be cooler after the storms so maybe I’ll have a bit more energy again. I certainly hope so. Walking around has helped keep me energized but it only goes so far when the temperatures and humidity are oppressive.

July 31

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,265
• Today’s word count: 26
• Thoughts: Oh boy. Today was a terrible writing day. I don’t know what went wrong exactly, but it resulted in hardly any words being written. I wanted to write. However, getting ideas to transform into words was nearly impossible.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, I hope. I can’t imagine it will be a worse day for writing than today turned out to be. Maybe starting a new month will be enough of a fresh start to shake things up for me.

August 1

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,412
• Today’s word count: 147
• Thoughts: I managed to write more, but I’m still not satisfied with my word count. I feel like I could be doing more but it’s just not happening. It’s hard. There’s a lot out there trying to distract me and I’m letting it.
• Tomorrow’s goal: It’ll be Friday but things are going to be a little bit different than usual. I’ll be pet sitting/house sitting for the weekend. I’m hoping I’ll be able to focus primarily on my writing in between playing with adorable animals. We’ll see what happens. The potential for a great writing day are there.

August 2

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,444
• Today’s word count: 32
• Thoughts: I thought today might be a bit different from a typical Friday since it was far from typical. The results of this atypical Friday were surprisingly typical. I suppose I needed more time to settle in than I expected. I tried to write but I ended up feeling distracted much of the time.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I should be more adjusted to my change in setting. That should make it easier to focus on my writing. I want to write a ton of words. It’s supposed to be one of the benefits of a change of scenery!

August 3

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,683
• Today’s word count: 239
• Thoughts: Writing was slow again today, but overall it was a much, much better day for writing. I’m actually making progress! Considering how little I’ve been writing lately, today was great. I wish I could write 1,000 words or more in a day, but that might not be possible for me right now.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More pet sitting. More writing. I’ll be doing my best to concentrate on getting as many words out as possible.

August 4

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 241,990
• Today’s word count: 307
• Thoughts: Better. Still not great, but I will certainly take better. Most importantly, I’m feeling refreshed. Getting out of my same old routine hopefully will help me be productive for a while after my vacation has ended. Any productivity boost is welcome. I need to start finishing things.
• Tomorrow’s goal: My last day of pet sitting. I’ll continue to try to write. Maybe the final day will be the most productive. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised by my own ability to produce words. It’s happened before!
