August 19

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 244,721
• Today’s word count: 166
• Thoughts: The heat definitely drained me again today. I tried to write and I had a bit of success once I managed to cool off. There was a time today when I didn’t think I would be able to cool off or write. The worst part was that I didn’t even go outside to get overheated. It was just that hot in most of my apartment today.
• Tomorrow’s goal: This little heatwave isn’t going to quit so I’m going to do my best to keep cool and hopefully get some work done. My main goal is to get a chapter posted here on the blog.

August 20

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 244,823
• Today’s word count: 102
• Thoughts: We’re still in the midst of a heatwave. It’s still draining me. I’m still trying to write and do other writing related things, like posting a new chapter today. I guess the day is not a complete loss.
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I think it is supposed to continue to be hot and humid, but I’m not going to give up hope. I know I can write. It might not be a ton of words, but I can sit down and make an effort even if I’m overheating for most of the day.

August 21

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 245,070
• Today’s word count: 247
• Thoughts: The heatwave continues. I’m trying, but I’m definitely still feeling the effects of the weather. I don’t do extreme temperatures. I want to live my life normally but the weather makes that so difficult. I want normal, warm summer weather (and fall to come quickly).
• Tomorrow’s goal: More writing. I’m pretty sure the temperatures aren’t supposed to be any cooler, but I’m going to keep trying. My willpower is going to get me through this. I’m pretty sure things are supposed to finally cool off on Friday so I just need to hang on for a little longer.

August 22

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 245,251
• Today’s word count: 181
• Thoughts: Today was hot. Again. I’m so done with it. Thankfully, I think today is supposed to be the last day of this heatwave. I wrote, but it wasn’t an amazingly productive day. I guess I shouldn’t complain.
• Tomorrow’s goal: It’ll be Friday. It’s hard to guess what will happen. It’s supposed to be cooler. A lot cooler. I just want to write. Hopefully I’ll be able to focus on writing.

August 23

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 245,374
• Today’s word count: 123
• Thoughts: Today was Friday. Fridays can be a disaster, but today wasn’t so bad. My word count isn’t that much lower than yesterday. Honestly, I’m thrilled. For a Friday, this was an amazing accomplishment.
• Tomorrow’s goal: I’m going to a park and then I have dinner with my family. I don’t know when I will have time to write, but I’m pretty sure I will make time to write at least a little bit. I’m feeling motivated and I don’t want to lose it. Skipping a day of writing is just too much of a risk right now.

August 24

No writing progress made. I spent most of the days outside. The part of the day I did spend inside, I didn’t spend in my home. That left me with almost no time to write. By the time I was home and able to write, it was really, really late and I was out of energy.

It’s been a while since that happened. I think it’s okay because it has been so long. I’ll try to make up for it tomorrow.

August 25

• Project: Inbetween
• Total word count: 245,416
• Today’s word count: 42
• Thoughts: I wrote! It wasn’t much. I was still exhausted from everything I did on Saturday. As badly as I wanted to write, I just didn’t have the energy to concentrate. Even worse, I was too tired to sit in a way that made it easy for me to type. In better news, I thought up a fun opening line for my  next serial. I’ll probably get rid of it later, but it was exciting to be struck by inspiration for a story that is still in the development stage.
• Tomorrow’s goal: I hope I can get back to writing a reasonable amount of words. I do have to go out and do an errand, but it shouldn’t take me all day. I should have most of the afternoon and the entire evening to concentrate on my usual routine.
