I didn’t finish as many books this month and I didn’t start any new ones either. I guess it was a slow reading month. It happens sometimes but I’m a little worried it will become a pattern. I don’t want to read less. There are too many good books out there.
Books I finished reading in August:
- Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo
Books I’m currently reading:
- House of Many Ways – Diana Wynne Jones
- The Poppy War – R. F. Kuang
- Exit Strategy – Martha Wells
Do you ever unintentionally read less for a little while? Do you do something to start reading more or do you let the phase run its course?
What did you think about Six of Crows?

It didn’t blow my away but I had fun reading it. It’s been a while since I read a book with so many POV characters so that was a good change of pace. I’ll probably get around to reading the second book eventually. The waiting list at my library is extremely long right now so it’ll be a while before I have a chance even if I make room on my hold list for it.

I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve been curious about it. I’ll probably give it a look next time I go to the bookstore.
