- Thoughts: Nothing went the way I expected today. I had a period of really intense focus in the afternoon and it disappeared as soon as I tried to turn that focus toward writing. Once again I felt like I couldn’t get anywhere with my writing until late in the evening. However, tonight I just didn’t have the energy to stay up and see how far I could go.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Write earlier. It’s that simple. I do think there is something special about the sort of deep focus I get at the end of the day and when I can stay up and work with it, I produce some really great work. It’s just not worth the gamble right now. When I get tired I go from 60% to 1% energy in no time at all. With NaNoWriMo only a few weeks away it would also be really helpful to get into the habit of writing at different times of day just so I can make a decent attempt at staying on track in November.

- Thoughts: Writing just clicked today! I tried to start writing earlier. I made a little bit of progress. Most of my writing happened pretty late at night, unfortunately. RIP my bedtime.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Can I replicate today just a few hours earlier? That would be perfect. Doing that a few times a week could really form a useful habit.

- Thoughts: Writing is happening again! Believe it or not, I wrote all these words in the afternoon/early evenings. I didn’t have to wait for my brain to get tired and let its guard down to write. It was lovely. I hope it will happen more often. Maybe every day.
- Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, of course! I’m feeling motivated. I don’t want to lose this writing mojo. Once this draft is over I can take a break and do something else for a little while before NaNoWriMo.

- Thoughts: I’m loving how productive I’ve been lately! I’m still not sure what changed. Something magical happened and I’ve been able to write during the day. It’s been a while since I was able to efficiently write during daylight hours. A switch flipped in my brain and now I’m able to focus before nighttime.
- Tomorrow’s goal: I have errands to run in the morning. That has derailed most of my Fridays, but I’m going to try to write anyway. The past few days have been unusually productive. I’d like to see if I can keep it going.

- Thoughts: I had another good writing day! I’m on a roll. The past few days have been so good that I’m almost certain I’m going to mess it up just by being afraid to mess it up.
- Tomorrow’s goal: If I can just keep the momentum going I will be so happy. I’m just afraid I’m going to mess it up at this point.

- Thoughts: The streak continues! It’s becoming more of a thing. Now I sort of expect to write a decent amount each day. I’m afraid of ending the streak. When it happens I know I’ll feel bad. Hopefully I’ll keep it going until I finish this draft. That won’t be long at all at this rate. Then I’m taking an intentional break to plan and relax before NaNoWriMo.
- Tomorrow’s goal: More writing, of course! I have to keep the streak going.

- Thoughts: I’m still going! I haven’t been this motivated in ages. I don’t want it to stop. At the same time, I know I’m (finally) reaching the end of this draft and the plan has been to take a break once I finish it. I want that break at least as much as I want to keep having good writing days.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Keep going! If I try really hard I might be able to finish up by the end of the month. That would give me all of October to relax and prepare for NaNoWriMo without feeling guilty for a neglected work in progress.
