November 29
- Project: Inbetween (novel version)
- Total word count: 45,395
- Today’s word count: 5,023
- Thoughts: I really, really wanted to write 5k today and I did it! I still can’t quite believe it. I don’t know where the motivation and focus is coming from but I hope it keeps coming.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Obviously I need to win NaNoWriMo. I won’t need to write quite as much as I did today to do that. It’ll still be a challenge, but I think I can handle it.
November 30
- Project: Inbetween (novel version)
- Total word count: 50,047
- Today’s word count: 4,652
- Thoughts: I did it! I won NaNoWriMo. Last year broke my winning streak, but I’m back on track now. Hopefully I can make this streak even longer than the last one. My brain has pretty much decided the words are done and it is done working now.
- Tomorrow’s goal: Part of me knows I need a rest day (or week?) but I’m feeling really motivated right now. I could easily keep writing Inbetween or get to work revising the completed 3rd draft of The Dreams or I could start a new project. I don’t know what I want. I should probably rest a bit and work on something once I feel settled.
December 1
No writing progress.
I wanted to write but I didn’t want to write enough to actually commit to doing it when I offered myself some distractions. My determination will probably come back when I’m a little less tired. The pressure of the end of the month exhausted me.
December 2
I did some tidying up of the final bits of The Dreams draft 3 that I was too scared to touch back in October. Hopefully I’ll have those up on Patreon soon. I’m separated enough from the writing of it now to not care as much but I’m still feeling uneasy about it. The end of that story is still the part I’m least satisfied with. I have some ideas for how to fix it next draft but I want to hold off on doing it until I see how my other planned changes alter the shape of the story.
December 3–5
I decided to actually take a break from writing. The first few days after the end of NaNoWriMo I still had so much writing energy left inside of me and I wanted to keep going just as much as I wanted some time to relax and recover. By the third I decided to just take a break and stop fighting it.
On Saturday I did post more of The Dreams over on Patreon. The final two chapters will be come out this week with the story concluding on Saturday.
