Writing Progress April 25–May 1, 2022

This progress report is a bit different from pretty much every other one I’ve written.

Packing and planning dominated my week. We’re not moving the last of our furniture until May 21 so this week I was doing my best to organize everything into stuff that can be packed now and stuff that needs to be packed later.

I tried to get back into writing a few times this week, but I just didn’t have the energy to switch bandwidths. I haven’t been sleeping as much as I should which is making it hard to be as productive as I want to be.

However, there was one day this week I actually managed to sit down and attempt to write.

April 30

  • Project: The Dreams
  • Total word count: 3,792
  • Today’s word count: 7
  • Thoughts: I really didn’t think today would be the day I would have the brain power to get some writing done, but here we are. I’m glad to have written something. I just wish I had the energy to stick with it. I’d be a lot less restless about not writing every day if the days I did write produced a decent number of words.
  • Tomorrow’s goal: I try to set aside a few minutes to write every day at least. I don’t know when I’ll be able to actually create something consistently again.

Sunday I really thought I would be able to get some writing done. The biggest thing I had to do was hang out at the house and wait for a delivery. However, I woke up with the start of a migraine and had to endure the progression into a full blown migraine while I was at the house waiting for the delivery. I had my laptop with me in case I wanted to write, but instead I tried to get comfortable and watched a movie. Maybe I could have tried to write, but it didn’t feel worth it.
