What I Read in January

I had another book-filled month! I’m still using and loving my library card.

I set a goal to read 24 books in 2019 and I’m ahead of schedule at this point. Did you set a reading goal for the year? How’s it going now that we’re one month in?

What I Read in December

December was a surprisingly book-filled month for me. A big factor in that was finally getting an updated library card which gave me access to their digital library, which includes a huge selection of audiobooks waiting for me online. I was able to read a lot of books while working on other things this month!

I didn’t reach my goal for the 2018 Goodreads challenge, but I made a pretty strong comeback this month!

What I Read in September

I’ve been reading a lot of long books this year. I think I’m going to have to find some short/normal length books to read this fall. As much as I love long books, I think the fact that they’re taking me so long to read is a sign that I need a change of pace.

What I Read in July

July was a month of burn-out. It’s that simple. I was just done with everything.

Apparently that included books.

That isn’t to say I didn’t try to read. I just didn’t read a lot.

I’m still loving Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, but there were a lot of days in July when I just didn’t have the energy to invest in enjoying the story. I’m not used to feeling like this, but I took some time to reflect on it and I’m sure it’s only temporary. Soon I’ll be ready to read again.

What I Read in June

I’m still in a bit of a reading slump. I miss the days when I read a book a week. I’m not sure what I need to do to get those days back.

With CampNaNoWriMo next month, I can’t imagine making a comeback in July.

What I Read in May

I’m still in a bit of a reading slump. I think I need to incorporate more reading time into my day to break it. For the longest time I could get through several books a month by reading before bed. Lately I’ve been falling asleep or getting lost in thought shortly after I start reading. It’s slowed me down significantly.

Now I need to find another time to read and it turns out that is harder than it sounds.
